All-Ceramic Dental Crowns – Enfield, CT

Reliable, Natural-Looking Tooth Repair

Dental crowns are an effective way to repair a number of dental problems, including broken teeth and decayed teeth. They are also essential to protect most teeth that have been treated with root canal therapy. Unfortunately, many dental crowns come with a significant drawback; they are made out of metals that clash with the color of the natural dentition around them. That is why we are proud to offer all-ceramic dental crowns in Enfield. These sturdy restorations are as beautiful as they are reliable.

Benefits of All-Ceramic Crowns

All-ceramic crowns offer some significant advantages:

All-ceramic crowns can be used in many of the same circumstances as their metal counterparts. They serve to restore the shape and function of damaged teeth. However, the beautiful natural of ceramic crowns gives them an additional purpose; some individuals receive them with the sole goal of improving the way their teeth look.

Keep in mind that ceramic crowns are not quite as tough as metal ones. Therefore, they are not usually recommended for use on the back teeth, which have to withstand a lot of force during chewing. An all-metal or porcelain-fused-to-metal crown may be the best choice for molars and premolars. We recommend all-ceramic crowns for teeth that are easily visible when you smile.

When you visit us for your restorative consultation, we will make sure you understand all of your treatment options so you can make a fully informed decision about which material to use for your crown.

The Ceramic Crown Process

The all-ceramic crown process takes place across two appointments. At the first appointment, we prepare the tooth by removing damaged areas. We also shape the tooth so it will fit well beneath the crown. Then, we take an impression of the tooth and the area around it. While a dental laboratory creates your permanent crown, you will wear a temporary restoration to protect your tooth.

At your second appointment, we will verify that the crown fits perfectly and will not lead to any bite problems. Then, we will permanently attach it to the tooth.

Will you soon need a crown for one of your front teeth, or do you have an old metal crown that you would like to replace with a more aesthetically pleasing alternative? Contact Four Town Dental today to schedule an appointment or learn more about our restorative and cosmetic services.
